Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Aroundly uses cookies and browser storage technologies. We use essential cookies to make the platform work, and marketing cookies to measure advertising performance, but only with your consent.

1. What We Store in Your Browser

Aroundly uses HttpOnly cookies for authentication and browser storage for session data and preferences. Here is a complete list of what we store:

HTTP Cookies (managed automatically)

These cookies are HttpOnly and Secure, meaning they are sent automatically by your browser but cannot be read or modified by JavaScript. They are transmitted only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

access_token

Essential

Your authentication token (JWT). HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Keeps you signed in between browser sessions. Removed when you sign out.

refresh_token

Essential

Used to obtain a new access token when your current one expires. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Removed when you sign out.

cookie_consent

Essential

Stores whether you accepted or declined marketing cookies. SameSite=Lax. This cookie is strictly necessary to remember your choice and does not require consent itself. Expires after 6 months, after which you will be asked again.

Marketing Cookies (set only with your consent)

These cookies are set only if you click "Accept" on the cookie consent banner. They help us measure which advertisements led you to Aroundly. If you decline, these cookies are never loaded.

_fbc

Local Storage (persistent until cleared)

newsletter_subscribed

Session Storage (cleared when you close the tab)

pendingVerificationEmail

Essential

Temporarily stores your email address during the email verification flow after registration. Automatically cleared when the tab is closed.

2. What We Do Not Use

  • No cross site tracking of any kind
  • No third party analytics services
  • No social media tracking or share buttons that set cookies
  • No fingerprinting or other persistent identification techniques beyond what is listed above

3. Third Party Cookies

While Aroundly itself does not set third party cookies, two external services used within the platform may set their own:

  • Stripe: When you make a payment, you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page. Stripe may set cookies during the payment process for fraud prevention and session management. These are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy.
  • Google Maps: Reports containing maps load Google Maps, which may set cookies as described in Google's Cookie Policy.

4. Cookie Consent

When you first visit Aroundly, a cookie consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the page. No marketing cookies are loaded until you make a choice.

  • Accept: Meta Pixel and Google Ads tags are loaded. These set the marketing cookies listed in Section 1 above.
  • Decline: No marketing cookies are set. The banner is dismissed and will not appear again for 6 months.

Essential cookies (authentication, session management) do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and are always active.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

5. Managing Browser Storage

You can clear local storage and session storage through your browser settings at any time. Be aware that clearing local storage will sign you out and you will need to log in again.

In most browsers, you can manage site data through Settings > Privacy > Site Data (or similar). Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.
